If he had a concealed weapon…

To me this is a good argument for being PRO gun and having a concealed weapon. Had this driver had a gun… or let’s say, had it been me, as soon as he finished smashing my window in I would have shot him right in the trachea. End of story? Probably not. Would it have bought me more time? Probably. Would it have landed me in jail if the guy died? (After a long trial) probably not. Especially since I did not know there was video being shot but what with the smashed window and all… What I am certain it would have done was made the window smasher think twice. If he would have stopped and thought, “Maybe this driver has a gun under his seat…” then maybe this whole issue would have been avoided.

To quote the New York Post– “Authorities said Alexian Lien, 33, of Manhattan, was driving the family’s Range Rover north near West 125th Street in Harlem when the gang, known as Hollywood Stuntz, surrounded the SUV at around 1:30 p.m., according to officials.

A biker pulled in front of the car and slowed down, forcing Lien to stop — at which point, as seen on the gang’s video, the bikers stop and a confrontation ensues.

“They take their helmets and they start to dent his car, and apparently his tires are slashed with a knife,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said at a press conference Monday. (9/30/13) The panicked dad gunned the engine, striking several bikers — one of whom was seriously injured — as he sped off, with the pack of thugs in hot pursuit, police sources said.”

Not quite that simple. Look at the video and it seems the biker who stopped in front of Lien was taunting him. That biker is Christopher Cruz, 28, who had moved in front of his SUV and then slowed so much and to the point Lien rear ended him. Cruz, was in court Wednesday (10/02/12) facing misdemeanor charges, including reckless driving. Cruz was released after posting $1,500 cash bail and a $15,000 insurance bond plus his license was suspended and he was ordered to surrender his passport.

This driver had his wife and child in the car with him and they were just out minding their own business on their way to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

But this post is not about the accident or the mentality of motorcycle street gangs whether they ride Harley Davidson or the modern fast motorcycles like the gang we have in Las Vegas who I have personally seen being disruptive and dangerously breaking laws along the Las vegas Strip. This post is about how, if more people carried a concealed weapon, maybe Christopher Cruz would have that in the back of his mind and maybe he would not have (allegedly) stopped so abruptly in front of Alexian Lien causing the minor accident and setting off this downward spiral. And maybe the biker believed to be Allen Edwards, 43, of Queens, who allegedly smashed in Alexian Lien’s rear driver’s side window with his fist would have thought twice about doing so. As well including the motorcyclist who yanked driver Alexian Lien from his family’s SUV, who cops believe to be Reggie Chance, 38, may have thought twice for fear of being shot by someone lawfully carrying a firearm he is well trained to use. All this and the criminal trials with people like Gloria Allred could have all been avoided.
